Volleyball strength and movement training

The Athlete Matrix Volleyball Programs are lead by former Team Canada Beach Volleyball Player and TAM Director of Strength and Conditioning, Reid Hall. For the past decade, Reid has been at the forefront of designing and implementing dynamic volleyball specific strength training programs for athletes of all ages across North America. 

Reid's success in athletics and coaching began on the beach and has continued into the weight room. The 5-Time Canadian National Gold Medalist in Beach Volleyball studied at York University in Toronto, graduating with an Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences before starting his coaching career.

Reid continues his commitment to youth, amateur and professional volleyball athletes with his upcoming programming at The Athlete Matrix.

Why train with matrix volleyball?

The Athlete Matrix Volleyball Team works together to help develop complete athletes across all available programs. A complete athlete is someone who is mobile, stable, fast, agile, strong, and healthy. The Athlete Matrix Volleyball Program utilizes: Full Assessments(including Vertical Jump Analysis), Individualized Workout Programs, a High Performance Training Culture all with a High Coach-to-Athlete Ratio. Dedicated and committed athletes can expect to see improved mobility/movement quality, increased strength/power output, speed/change of direction, vertical jumping ability while decreasing injury risks.

To support athletes in achieving these goals, we offer: Strength & Movement Classes, Private & Small Group Training as well as Team Training, all directed by Reid Hall and his qualified staff of strength and conditioning specialists. Strength & movement classes

What does a typical training session look like?

Workouts are an hour and 15 minutes in length.

There are 5 major focuses in the volleyball classes:

1. Strength
2. Speed/Agility Foot Work
3. Jump & Jump Technique
4. Conditioning
5. Injury Prevention

The first 20 minutes is dedicated to mobility exercises, muscle activation, speed/ agility, and plyometric exercises. The following 50 minutes is focused on strength and power development, and the last 5 minutes is flexibility and recovery exercises. 

Training sessions are adjusted for the individual athlete. For instance, if an athlete is in the process of recovering from a knee injury they will have exercises modified for them so that they can improve and not place more strain on their knees.

Athletes will be placed into a small group with other athletes of a similar age and development level. Each group will have a coach working directly with them.

The athlete is able to attend any of our training time-slots but will need to book ahead of time. To book in your time-slot please email to matrixvolleyballtraining@gmail.com. Please book in your training time-slot 48 hours in advanced.
